FACE OFF. IPHONE 5 VS SAMSUNG GALAXY S3

There are hoards of new high end mobile phones in the market right now and it's a big confusion as to which one to buy. So today I will do a face off between two of the best phones available in the market now(for those with big pockets) iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3. First let's talk about what's good in iPhone 5. • thiner, lighter and more compact • high screen resolution • better viewing in sunlight • more impressive build material SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 • Bigger, higher-res screen • NFC connectivity • Standard USB port for data transfer and charging • microSD card slot for (cheap) storage expansion Mass storage mode, USB Host functionality • Native google maps • 2gb ram (in some) While apple has always been known to it's designing and looks, Samsung has been a more of concentrated on features, which is actually not a bad strategy. But here Samsung gives a tough fight to iPhone 5 on both looks and features. But what's the use of features if you can't use it for long? Yep, I'm talking about batteries. Let's look at the stats iPhone 5 has a 1,440mAh battery, while the Galaxy S III has a beefier 2,100mAh battery. Samsung wins thishands down with a talk time of about 10hrs while iPhone lasts just 5hrs . Both the cameras are good, as both off hi-def recording at 720/30fps. But Samsung gives you option to choose at which resolution you want to shoot the video. It goes way down to QVGA. That would give you more space for still photography. Which by the way is almost similar in both. If you are waiting for a conclusive decision right now as to which one won, you will be disappointed. IPhone 5 is the most expensive mobile in the market right now, more then 200 euros more then Samsung Galaxy S3 in European market. If you would take my choice I will go for Samsung Galaxy S3 any day. But you make your own decision so go out and check those both in a showroom near you.

evolution of phones

You can divide telephones into 3 eras. stone age (landlines) bronze age (mobiles ) and iPhone age! yeah, I couldn't think of any name for this age. well little would have Graham bell imagined that one day people will keep tiny devices in their pockets which not only allow voice calls but chat looking into each others faces! of course you have to give internet the credit for that but yet, telephone was the first communication device. first telephone call was made between Chicago and new York in 1842. The inventor of telephone was controversial, many argue that Graham bell isn't the inventor. since tele communication was about sending electric signals, people said Marconi should be given the credit, who had invented radio, which worked on almost similar technology. but in 1870 Graham bell finally got it patented in his name. and then it rapidly spread around the world. then came the era of mobile phones! The first mobile telephone calls were made from cars in 1946. Bell System's Mobile Telephone Service was made on 17 June in St. Louis, Missouri, believe it or faint, MTA the first mobile phone weighed 80pounds (36 kg ) can you imagine holding them in your hands talking to your girlfriend for hours?? I first saw a mobile phone in 1997! me and my friends would stare at those holding phones as if they had just landed from a spaceship, straight out of star wars movie! But everything changed once mobile operators decided to demolish incoming call rates! voila mobile phone towers started mushrooming in every nook and corner of the country, even in villages where people had no idea what mobile phones were! in 2007 I saw a picture of long queues outside of people standing outside a mobile store in newspaper. yes iPhone had arrived! what made iPhone so different? well many things. prominent being, first phone to boost of a capacitve. touch screen, specially designed operating system and most importantly Apps store. apps were something that made life easy for users. No need to use browsers for everything, just click on the app you wish to your needs. of course the first iPhone was similar to current China made mobile in terms of screen resolution and camera, but it was something special! as Steve Jobs had said "we make things which is not necessary to have, but you can't resist from owning it"
